COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Conference Interpreting is a highly specialised program designed to develop advanced linguistic, cognitive and professional skills required for careers in translation and interpreting across global contexts. The course begins with a foundation zone that introduces students to core concepts in translation and interpreting studies, including translation theory, interpreting practice, audiovisual translation, and the use of technology in language services. Students also develop practical skills in general and intermediate interpreting, building a strong base in both written and oral language transfer. The core zone then focuses on advanced professional training, where students refine their abilities in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting in both directions between English and a second language (LOTE). Training includes real-time interpreting practice, professional ethics, and advanced interpreting techniques that simulate real-world conference environments. The program also incorporates research methods in language studies, enabling students to critically engage with developments in the field. Throughout the degree, students are trained to operate at a professional standard required for international organisations, government agencies and multilingual institutions. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, speed, cultural sensitivity and ethical practice. Graduates are well prepared for careers as professional conference interpreters and translators, equipped with the technical expertise and confidence needed to work in high-level multilingual communication settings globally.
