COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Commerce (MCom) with a specialisation in Human Resource Management (HRM) is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in business knowledge, core management skills, and advanced expertise in managing people and organisational systems. The program begins with a 40-credit-point Foundation Zone designed for students from non-business backgrounds, offering elective units such as Principles of Accounting, Principles of Finance, Economics for Professionals, Introduction to Marketing Management, Work, Organisation and Management, and Introduction to Inference, Modelling and Forecasting. This stage builds essential understanding of key business and analytical concepts. The Core Zone, worth 80 credit points, develops professional competence through essential units including Business Ethics and Sustainability, Management of Data, Analytics and Change, and Contemporary Business Issues. Students also choose electives such as Corporate Finance, Managerial Accounting for Decision Making, Business Analytics Techniques, Globalisation and Supply Chain Management, or a Business Internship for practical exposure. The 40-credit-point HRM Specialisation focuses on advanced people management skills through core units such as Management of People at Work, International Human Resource Management, Managing Performance and Rewards, and Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. These subjects equip students with the ability to design HR strategies, manage workplace relationships, and support organisational effectiveness.
