COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Commerce (MCom) in Business Management is structured to provide students with a strong balance of foundational knowledge, core business skills, and advanced specialisation in management. The program begins with a Foundation Zone of 40 credit points, designed for students transitioning from different academic backgrounds. This stage introduces essential business concepts through elective units such as Principles of Accounting, Principles of Finance, Economics for Professionals, Introduction to Marketing Management, Work, Organisation and Management, and Introduction to Inference, Modelling and Forecasting, allowing students to build a broad understanding of key business disciplines. The Core Zone, worth 80 credit points, deepens professional expertise through essential units like Business Ethics and Sustainability, Management of Data, Analytics and Change, and Contemporary Business Issues. Students also select electives including Managerial Accounting for Decision Making, Corporate Finance, Business Analytics Techniques, Marketing Theory and Practice, Globalisation and Supply Chain Management, or a Business Internship for practical exposure. The Specialisation component of 40 credit points focuses specifically on Business Management, covering Digital Innovation, Managing Strategically, Behaviour in Organisations, and Entrepreneurship in Business. Together, these units develop critical thinking, leadership, analytical, and strategic decision-making skills. The program prepares graduates to understand complex organisational environments, manage change, and drive innovation in global business settings while equipping them for careers in management, consulting, entrepreneurship, and corporate leadership roles.
