COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Clinical Psychology is a rigorous professional program designed to develop highly skilled clinicians capable of assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychological disorders across diverse populations and life stages. The Core Zone, comprising 160 credit points, forms the foundation of advanced clinical training and integrates theoretical knowledge with extensive supervised practice. Students begin with essential professional units such as Counselling and Professional Practice, Psychological Assessment and Reports, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Related Techniques, Populations and Presentations in Practice, Working with Children and Families, and Research Theory and Practice for Professional Psychologists. These subjects build strong competencies in evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention. The program then advances into specialised clinical training through units such as Clinical Assessment and Formulation for Complex Presentations (Parts 1 and 2), Advanced Intervention Planning and Implementation, and Collaborative Practice in Diverse and Priority Populations, which develop expertise in managing complex mental health conditions and working with varied client groups. Extensive supervised experience is provided through multiple professional and clinical placements, ensuring students apply their knowledge in real-world settings under expert supervision. Additional placement units further strengthen practical skills and professional readiness. Overall, the program equips graduates with advanced clinical expertise, research capability, and ethical practice skills required for careers as registered clinical psychologists in healthcare, community, and private practice settings.
