COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Professional Accounting is a 240-credit-point program structured into a 160-credit-point core zone and an 80-credit-point flexible zone, designed to develop strong technical, analytical, and professional accounting skills. The core zone includes essential foundational units such as Accounting for Decision Making (ACCG1000), Accounting and Governance (ACCG1001), Finance Fundamentals (ACST1001), Corporate Finance and Capital Markets (AFIN1002), Economics and Business Strategy (ECON1020), and Business Statistics and Insights (STAT1250), which build essential knowledge in finance, economics, and data analysis. Students then progress to advanced accounting and governance subjects including Cost Analysis and Managerial Decision Making, Financial Accounting and Reporting Analysis, Information Systems and Data Analytics for Accountants, Governance and Corporations Law, Business Performance and Management Controls, Business and Risk Advisory, Tax in Practice, and Auditing and Assurance Services. Practical industry learning is embedded through the PACE capstone unit, Accounting and Governance in the Profession (ACCG3015), which integrates professional experience and applied knowledge. The program also offers elective units such as Blockchain for Business and Foundations of Forensic and Data Analytics, providing exposure to emerging technologies and specialised accounting fields. Overall, the degree prepares graduates for professional careers in accounting, auditing, taxation, financial management, consulting, and corporate governance by combining technical expertise, analytical thinking, and real-world business application.
