COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Media and Communications offers specialised study areas that prepare students for careers in the modern media industry. These include Public Relations and Social Media, Interactive Design, Journalism and Non-Fiction Writing, and Screen Practice and Production. Each stream focuses on developing both creative and technical skills required in today’s digital and media-driven world. Students learn how to create and manage communication strategies, produce engaging written and visual content, design interactive digital media, and develop skills in filmmaking, broadcasting, and screen production. The program builds strong storytelling abilities alongside practical knowledge of media tools and platforms, ensuring graduates can adapt to evolving technologies and audience demands. It prepares students for careers in journalism, digital media, advertising, content creation, public relations, and film and television production. The Bachelor of Laws complements this creative training by providing a strong foundation in legal principles and professional practice. Students gain opportunities for real-world experience through internships with leading law firms such as Allens, Ashurst, Clayton Utz, and MinterEllison, which can support future employment. They may also work with Wallumatta Legal, a not-for-profit legal clinic focused on improving access to justice. Additional experiential learning through Social Justice and Strategic Litigation Clinics further strengthens their practical legal skills. Together, these degrees produce graduates who are both legally competent and skilled communicators, capable of working across media, legal, and policy-related fields.
