COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Media and Communications (Interactive Design major) is a 240-credit-point program structured into a 160-credit-point core zone and an 80-credit-point major, designed to develop strong skills in digital media production, communication theory, and interactive design practices. The core zone includes essential units such as Media Practice and Production (MMCC1015), Introduction to Media and Mass Communications (MMCC1040), Media Theory in Practice, Creative Freedoms: Authorship, Technology, Law (MMCC2014), Media Representations, Cybercultures, and Media Ethics (MMCC3016), which together build a strong foundation in media analysis, production, and critical thinking. Students also complete a capstone unit, PACE: Media Internship (MMCC3150), which provides real-world industry experience. The Interactive Design major (80 credit points) focuses on practical and creative digital skills through units such as Introduction to Video Games Studies, Multimodal Storytelling, Interactive Web Design, Principles of Web Design, Photo Media, Interactive and Digital Arts, Critical Games Studies, and Interactive Storytelling. These subjects develop expertise in creating engaging digital content across web, media, and interactive platforms while combining visual design, storytelling, and technology. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers in interactive design, digital media production, UX/UI design, web design, game studies, and creative media industries, combining theoretical understanding with hands-on creative and technical production skills.
