COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of International Studies and Bachelor of Security Studies double degree combines interdisciplinary global studies with specialised security education, enabling students to develop expertise in international affairs while addressing contemporary security challenges. The International Studies component offers two flexible specialisations: Global Leadership and Communication, which focuses on leadership, intercultural communication, diplomacy, negotiation and global collaboration, and Humans and Emerging Technologies, which examines the social, ethical and political impacts of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital innovation. These study areas strengthen students’ analytical thinking, communication, cultural awareness and problem-solving abilities while preparing them to work across international and multicultural environments. The Bachelor of Security Studies complements this knowledge by providing a multidisciplinary understanding of intelligence, cybersecurity, counterterrorism, defence strategy, crisis management and national security. Students develop practical skills in intelligence analysis, risk assessment, strategic planning and security policy through industry-relevant learning and engagement with experienced practitioners. The combined curriculum integrates global perspectives with security expertise, equipping graduates to understand the complex relationship between international politics, technology and security. This broad and future-focused qualification prepares students for diverse careers in government, defence, intelligence agencies, diplomacy, international organisations, cybersecurity, public policy, strategic consulting, risk management and multinational organisations, while providing the adaptability and leadership skills required to respond effectively to rapidly evolving global challenges.
