COURSE CURRICULUM

This double degree combines the Bachelor of International Studies and the Bachelor of Laws to develop graduates with strong global awareness, communication skills, and professional legal expertise. The Bachelor of International Studies core focuses on understanding global systems and contemporary challenges through two key components. The first, Global Leadership and Communication, develops skills in cross-cultural communication, leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking in international contexts, preparing students to work effectively across diverse teams and global environments. The second component, Humans and Emerging Technologies, explores how technological change is reshaping societies, governance, ethics, and human interaction, enabling students to critically analyse the social, political, and ethical implications of innovation. Together, these areas build adaptability, cultural intelligence, and the ability to respond to complex global issues. The Bachelor of Laws component provides a comprehensive foundation in legal knowledge and practice, covering key areas such as contracts, criminal law, constitutional law, torts, property, administrative law, equity, and public international law. Students also engage in practical learning experiences through internships, legal clinics, and professional placements with organisations such as leading law firms and community legal centres. Elective units allow further specialisation in areas like human rights, environmental law, and corporate regulation. Combined, this double degree prepares graduates for careers in law, diplomacy, international organisations, policy development, and globally focused professional roles requiring both legal expertise and international understanding.
