COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of International Studies (Humans and Emerging Technologies major) is a 240-credit-point program structured into a 160-credit-point core zone and an 80-credit-point major, designed to develop interdisciplinary thinkers capable of analysing the relationship between technology, society, and global systems. The core zone builds foundational knowledge through units such as Grand Challenges and Systems Thinking (INTS1001), Unlearning Culture: Myths, People, and Change (INTS1002), Understanding Global Systems: Power and Governance (INTS1003), and Ways of Knowing: Interdisciplinary Thinking for Global Challenges (INTS1004), which develop critical thinking and systems-based analysis of global issues. Students further build applied communication and cultural understanding through Strategic Communication and Cultural Narratives (INTS2002), Cultural Intelligence and Problem Solving (INTS2003), and an Intercultural Immersion experience (INTS3001). The degree concludes with the PACE: Global Futures Challenge Lab (INTS3002), where students apply interdisciplinary knowledge to real-world global challenges. The Humans and Emerging Technologies major focuses on the intersection of technology and society through units such as Technology and Society: From Plato to NATO (INTS1301), Navigating Digital Worlds (INTS1302), Ethics and Social Futures (INTS2301), Designing with Technology: Industry Studio (INTS2302), Human Futures: Norms, Disruption, and Transformation (INTS2203), Human Technology-Interface: Beyond the Frontier (INTS3301), Technology Gone Wrong (INTS3302), and Human-Tech Intervention: Technology Lab (INTS3303). Overall, the program equips students with critical, ethical, and practical skills to understand and shape the impact of emerging technologies on society, preparing them for careers in policy, innovation, digital industries, and global problem-solving roles.
