COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Health Sciences (Digital Health major) is a 240-credit-point degree structured across a core zone (160 credit points) and a flexible zone (80 credit points). The core zone provides foundational and essential knowledge through compulsory units such as Professional Practice 1 (MHHS1001), Human Structure and Function (MHHS1002), Misconceptions in the Modern World (MHHS1008), and Professional Practice 2 (MHHS2001), along with a capstone unit, PACE: Professional Practice 3 (MHHS3001), which integrates learning in the final year. Students also complete elective units (30 credit points) such as Evidence-Based Practice in Health, Health Systems, Lifestyle Factors for Health and Wellbeing, Health, Society and Culture, and Psychology in Context: Health, Development & Well-Being, allowing some customisation of study. The Digital Health major itself accounts for 80 credit points and focuses on specialised, technology-driven healthcare skills. Core major units include Evidence-Based Practice in Health and Health Systems, followed by advanced subjects such as Introduction to Health Database Design and Management (MHHS2101), Digital Health Systems for Hospital and Primary Care (MHHS2202), and Community and Aged-Care Digital Health Systems (MHHS2203). Higher-level units cover governance, ethics, privacy, and security in digital health data (MHHS3201), health data analytics (MHHS3202), and digital health system design (MHHS3203). Overall, the program integrates health sciences with data, systems thinking, and digital technologies.
