COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a 320-credit-point program comprising a 280-credit-point core zone and a 40-credit-point flexible zone, designed to provide comprehensive knowledge in electrical engineering, electronics, and modern energy systems. The core engineering component includes essential units such as Introduction to Engineering (ENGG1000), Engineering Design (ENGG1050), Engineering Practice (ENGG2000), Engineering Systems and Design Thinking (ENGG2050), Engineering Project Practice (ENGG3000), Engineering Leadership and Entrepreneurship (ENGG3050), and the Professional Practice capstone (ENGG4001), complemented by industry experience through PACE (ENGG4099). The Electrical and Electronic Engineering specialisation consists of 210 credit points covering mathematics, physics, programming, and advanced engineering subjects. Students begin with Calculus, Linear Algebra, Engineering Physics, Computer Programming, and Engineering Mathematics before progressing to Electrical and Electronic Systems, Signals and Systems, Digital Circuits, Linear Circuits, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Control Systems, Embedded Systems, Electronic Devices, and Communication Networks. Advanced units include Smart Power Grids, Power Systems Analysis, System on Chip Design, and two research thesis units that develop independent research and innovation skills. Throughout the program, students gain practical experience using industry-standard software, simulation tools, and engineering methodologies to solve complex technical challenges. Overall, the degree prepares graduates for careers in renewable energy, power systems, electronics, telecommunications, automation, and emerging technologies through a strong combination of theoretical knowledge, practical application, research, and professional engineering practice.
