COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Human Resource Management provides a structured program designed to develop strong people management, leadership and organisational skills for modern workplaces. The core zone of the degree builds a broad foundation in accounting for decision making, finance fundamentals, economics and business strategy, management, marketing, business statistics and employability skills, ensuring students gain essential business knowledge and analytical capabilities. The final-year capstone unit, Capstone: Agility and Excellence in Business, integrates learning from across the degree and enables students to apply strategic thinking to real-world business challenges. The Human Resource Management major focuses on understanding how organisations attract, develop and manage talent effectively to achieve organisational success. Students study key areas such as introduction to human resource management, performance and development for organisational success, workplace relations, staffing organisations, the art of negotiation, managing change in organisations and strategic human resource management. The PACE HRM Project provides practical industry experience through real workplace-based learning. This curriculum develops expertise in recruitment, employee performance, industrial relations, workforce planning and organisational development, while also building communication, negotiation and decision-making skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in human resources, recruitment, employee relations, training and development, organisational change management and consulting across a wide range of industries in both domestic and international organisations.
