COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Cyber Security Management provides a multidisciplinary program that combines business knowledge with cybersecurity, information systems and risk management skills to prepare students for the growing challenges of the digital economy. The core zone of the degree builds a strong foundation in accounting for decision making, finance fundamentals, economics and business strategy, management, marketing, business statistics and employability skills, ensuring students develop well-rounded business capabilities. The final-year capstone unit, Capstone: Agility and Excellence in Business, integrates learning from across the degree and enables students to apply strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to complex business challenges. The Cyber Security Management major focuses on protecting organisations from cyber threats by studying key areas such as introduction to cyber security, information systems and data analytics for accountants, blockchain for business, cybercrime, managing digital risk in organisations, cyber security governance and ethics, and cyber security in practice. Students also complete the PACE Enterprise Intelligence Project, gaining real-world industry experience by working on cybersecurity-related business challenges. This program develops analytical, technical and strategic skills, along with an understanding of legal, ethical and governance issues in cybersecurity. Graduates are prepared for careers in cybersecurity management, risk analysis, IT governance, compliance, consulting and information security roles across industries where protecting data and digital systems is critical to organisational success.
