COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and Auditing provides a structured and comprehensive program designed to develop strong technical, analytical and professional skills for careers in accounting and related business fields. The core zone of the degree establishes a broad foundation in accounting for decision making, finance fundamentals, economics and business strategy, management, marketing, business statistics and employability skills, ensuring students develop well-rounded business knowledge. The final-year capstone unit, Capstone: Agility and Excellence in Business, integrates learning from across the degree and enables students to apply their knowledge to complex business challenges in a practical and strategic way. The Accounting and Auditing major builds specialised expertise through core units in accounting and governance, cost analysis and managerial decision making, financial accounting and reporting analysis, information systems and data analytics for accountants, and auditing and assurance services. Students also complete a PACE Accounting and Governance in the Profession project, gaining valuable real-world experience through industry engagement. Elective units allow further specialisation in areas such as business performance and management controls, risk advisory, strategic management accounting research, financial statement analysis and information systems for management.
