COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts with a Philosophy major is structured into three main components: Core Zone, Major Requirements, and Flexible Zone. The Core Zone consists of 160 credit points and provides the foundational structure of the degree. It includes essential introductory units such as Humanities and the World and Critical Thinking, along with a final-year Capstone unit that integrates learning across the program. Students also complete PACE (Practical, Academic, and Cultural Engagement) units, which provide applied learning experiences through internships, communication projects, or social and ethical engagement activities. Additional elective options allow students to participate in international exchange programs or complete a minor, supporting interdisciplinary learning and global exposure. The Philosophy major consists of 80 credit points focused on developing skills in critical reasoning, ethical analysis, and conceptual thinking. Core units include The Philosophy of Human Nature and Happiness, Goodness and Justice, which introduce foundational philosophical questions about human life and morality. Students then progress through advanced units such as The Ethics and Moral Psychology of Good and Evil, Knowledge, Language and Power, Philosophy of Psychology, Art, Aesthetics, and Social Philosophy, Theories of Justice, and Consciousness and Self, which explore complex issues in ethics, epistemology, mind, and society. These units develop strong analytical and argumentative skills. The Flexible Zone accounts for 80 credit points, allowing students to pursue a second major or minor in fields such as sociology, media, law, or arts, preparing graduates for careers in research, policy, education, law, and public service.
