COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts with a Creative Industries major is structured into three main components: Core Zone, Major Requirements, and Flexible Zone. The Core Zone consists of 160 credit points and provides the foundational structure of the degree. It includes essential introductory units such as Humanities and the World and Critical Thinking, along with a final-year Capstone unit that integrates learning from across the program. Students also complete PACE (Practical, Academic, and Cultural Engagement) units, which offer hands-on learning experiences through internships, social impact projects, or communication and media-related activities. Additional elective options allow students to participate in international exchange programs or complete a minor, providing flexibility and opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. The Creative Industries major itself comprises 80 credit points and focuses on developing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills across cultural and digital sectors. Core units include Being Creative, Creative Industries in Action, Creative Communities, Creative Technologies, and Being Entrepreneurial, which build foundational understanding of creative practices and industry contexts. Advanced units such as Designing Creative Futures, Creative Pathways, Realisation and Dissemination, and Festivals, Events and Creative Spaces develop practical and professional skills for working in creative fields. The Flexible Zone provides another 80 credit points, allowing students to pursue a second major or minor in areas such as media, business, languages, sociology, or design, enabling broad career pathways in creative and cultural industries.
