COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Sport Analytics consists of 240 credit points of core study designed to develop advanced skills in sports data analysis, programming, statistics and technology-driven decision-making. The first level of the course provides students with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of sport analytics, introducing key concepts in data collection, management and interpretation. Students explore sport data capture techniques and learn how information is gathered, organised and applied to improve performance outcomes. The course develops essential technical capabilities through subjects such as database fundamentals and introduction to programming, enabling students to work effectively with data systems and analytical tools. Students also study advanced sport analytics methods, analytical approaches in sport and probability and statistics for data science, building the ability to evaluate data, identify patterns and generate meaningful insights. Practical application is emphasised through sport analytics in practice, allowing students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world sporting challenges. The curriculum also incorporates Indigenous cultural literacy and academic integrity to support responsible and inclusive professional practice. Through this integrated learning approach, students develop the analytical, technical and problem-solving skills required to contribute to modern sports organisations, performance teams and data-driven decision-making environments.
