COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nursing consists of 240 credit points and is designed to develop advanced nursing knowledge, professional skills, leadership capabilities, and specialised practice expertise. The course structure includes core subjects, a selected specialisation, advanced learning pathways, and elective options that allow students to customise their studies based on their career aspirations. In Level One, students complete core subjects including Critical Nursing Essentials and Advanced Health Assessment, along with clinical quality improvement or recognised advanced standing credit. Students also undertake 60 credit points from their chosen specialisation, including the Leadership specialisation. This specialisation focuses on preparing nurses to become effective healthcare leaders who can influence practice, support teams, and contribute to positive change across healthcare systems. Students explore key areas such as people management, healthcare operations, policy development, financial management, communication, and strategic decision-making. The program develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills required to manage complex healthcare environments and improve patient outcomes. In Level Two, students select a learning pathway such as Advanced Clinical, Education and Management, Project, Perioperative Nurse Surgical Assistant, or Research, depending on eligibility and professional goals. Through the Leadership specialisation, graduates gain the confidence and expertise to lead nursing teams, advocate for healthcare improvements, manage resources effectively, and contribute to the future direction of healthcare delivery.
