COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nursing consists of 240 credit points and provides advanced education in clinical practice, leadership, research, and specialised nursing fields. The course structure includes core subjects, a chosen specialisation, advanced learning pathways, and elective subjects designed to support students’ professional development and career goals. In Level One, students complete core subjects such as Critical Nursing Essentials and Advanced Health Assessment, along with clinical quality improvement or recognised advanced standing credit. Students also undertake 60 credit points from their selected specialisation, including the Health Management specialisation. This specialisation focuses on developing advanced leadership, management, and organisational skills required to improve healthcare services and support effective change within health systems. Students explore key areas including healthcare policies, operational processes, technology use, quality improvement, patient safety, and financial management. The program develops skills in strategic decision-making, team leadership, resource management, and improving healthcare outcomes. In Level Two, students select a learning pathway such as Advanced Clinical, Education and Management, Project, Perioperative Nurse Surgical Assistant, or Research, depending on eligibility and career interests. Through the Health Management specialisation, graduates develop the capability to lead healthcare teams, enhance service delivery, manage complex healthcare environments, and contribute to the development of efficient, safe, and patient-focused healthcare systems.
