COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nursing consists of 240 credit points and is designed to enhance advanced nursing knowledge, clinical expertise, leadership skills, and specialised practice capabilities. The course structure includes core subjects, a selected specialisation, advanced learning pathways, and elective options, allowing students to personalise their studies according to their professional goals. In Level One, students complete core subjects including Critical Nursing Essentials and Advanced Health Assessment, along with clinical quality improvement or recognised advanced standing credit. Students also complete 60 credit points from their chosen specialisation, including the Cardiac Care specialisation. This specialisation focuses on developing advanced clinical skills and specialised knowledge required to assess, manage, and support patients with cardiovascular conditions across emergency and chronic care settings. Students develop expertise in cardiac assessment, electrocardiology, cardiac devices, evidence-based interventions, and the development of effective nursing care plans for cardiovascular disease management. In Level Two, students select a learning pathway such as Advanced Clinical, Education and Management, Project, Perioperative Nurse Surgical Assistant, or Research, depending on eligibility and career aspirations. The program integrates theoretical learning with practical application, preparing graduates to provide high-quality cardiac nursing care, make timely clinical decisions, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Through the Cardiac Care specialisation, nurses gain the confidence and capability to improve patient outcomes and contribute to advanced cardiovascular healthcare practice.
