COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nursing consists of 240 credit points and is designed to develop advanced nursing knowledge, clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and specialised professional skills. The course structure includes core subjects, a chosen specialisation, advanced learning pathways, and elective options that allow students to tailor their studies to their career goals. In Level One, students complete core subjects including Critical Nursing Essentials and Advanced Health Assessment, along with clinical quality improvement or recognised advanced standing credit. Students also undertake 60 credit points from their selected specialisation, including the Acute Care specialisation. This specialisation focuses on developing advanced clinical reasoning, patient assessment, evidence-based practice, and decision-making skills required to manage acutely unwell patients in complex healthcare environments. In Level Two, students select an advanced learning pathway, such as Advanced Clinical, Education and Management, Project, Perioperative Nurse Surgical Assistant, or Research, depending on their professional interests and eligibility. The Acute Care specialisation supports students in building expertise through advanced clinical learning, research foundations, quality improvement, and practical application. The program combines theoretical study, clinical practice, and professional development to prepare graduates for advanced nursing roles. Students develop the confidence and capability to provide high-quality patient care, lead healthcare improvements, and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams across acute and specialised care settings.
