COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Extended Professional Accounting with the Financial Management specialisation requires the completion of 240 credit points, combining professional accounting knowledge with advanced financial management skills. The course is designed to prepare students for diverse careers by developing expertise in financial reporting, analysis, strategic decision-making, and modern finance practices. Level One consists of 120 credit points of core subjects, including accounting principles and practices, economics for global leaders, statistics for business, principles of finance, foundations of company and commercial law, accounting information systems, financial accounting and reporting, and management accounting, along with the Academic Integrity Module. These subjects provide students with essential knowledge of accounting systems, financial processes, business analysis, and regulatory frameworks. Level Two includes a 15-credit-point capstone subject in Advanced Accounting Issues, 30 credit points of core subjects covering taxation and auditing and assurance, and 15 credit points of prescribed electives such as Principles of Business Analytics or Industry Placement. Students also complete a 60-credit-point Financial Management specialisation, which develops advanced capabilities in investments, corporate finance, portfolio management, risk assessment, financial analysis, and international finance. By integrating accounting expertise with strategic financial management skills, the program prepares graduates for roles in financial consulting, corporate finance, investment management, auditing, banking, and other finance-related fields in global business environments.
