COURSE CURRICULUM

The course structure consists of 240 credit points and is designed to provide students with advanced engineering knowledge, technical expertise, and specialised skills in telecommunications and networking. The program is organised across two levels, combining core engineering studies with focused specialisation units. In Level one, students complete 120 credit points, including 90 credit points of core subjects and 30 credit points from their chosen specialisation. Core units include Computer Aided Engineering, Advanced Engineering Innovation, Risk and Cost Engineering, Australian Engineering Environment Sustainability and Practice, Applied Management for Engineers, and Engineering Research Methodology and Application. These subjects develop essential capabilities in engineering design, innovation, sustainability, project management, and research methods. In Level two, students complete 120 credit points, including core units in Telecommunication Design and Communication Systems, along with further specialisation studies. The Telecommunications and Networking specialisation stream requires 60 credit points, allowing students to build expertise in network architecture, digital communications, wireless systems, routing techniques, cybersecurity, and the design of advanced communication networks. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical applications, and industry-focused training, the course prepares graduates to develop secure and efficient telecommunications solutions. Graduates gain the skills required to pursue careers in telecommunications, scientific and technical services, defence, public administration, safety, and other technology-focused industries.
