COURSE CURRICULUM

The course structure consists of 240 credit points designed to provide students with advanced engineering knowledge, specialised technical skills, and practical capabilities for professional practice. The program is divided into two levels, combining core engineering studies with specialised learning in the Electronics stream. In Level one, students complete 120 credit points, including 90 credit points of core subjects and 30 credit points from their chosen specialisation. The core units cover essential areas such as Computer Aided Engineering, Advanced Engineering Innovation, Risk and Cost Engineering, Australian Engineering Environment Sustainability and Practice, Applied Management for Engineers, and Engineering Research Methodology and Application. These subjects develop students’ abilities in engineering analysis, innovation, sustainability, project management, and research practices. Level two includes 120 credit points, with core subjects in Telecommunication Design and Communication Systems, along with further specialisation studies. Students complete a total of 60 credit points within the Electronics specialisation stream, allowing them to develop expertise in areas such as digital design, microelectronics, embedded systems, signal processing, robotics, and electronic systems development. Through this combination of theoretical knowledge, practical applications, and specialised training, the course prepares graduates to design innovative electronic solutions, address complex engineering challenges, and pursue careers across technology-focused industries including scientific services, telecommunications, defence, and public safety sectors.
