COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Construction Engineering and Management requires students to complete a total of 240 credit points, comprising core subjects, a specialisation stream, and elective units. The course structure includes 150 credit points of core studies, 60 credit points from a chosen specialisation stream, and 30 credit points of electives, allowing students to develop both broad construction management capabilities and specialised expertise. In Level one, students complete 120 credit points of core subjects covering essential areas such as Building Information Modelling, Construction and Engineering Project Management, Project Management Systems, Risk and Cost Engineering, Advanced Engineering Innovation, Australian Engineering Environment Sustainability and Practice, Applied Management for Engineers, and Engineering Research Methodology and Application. These units develop technical, managerial, and research skills required for modern construction projects. Level two includes additional core subjects in Project Procurement Methods and Advanced Construction Systems, along with specialised study and elective options. The elective component enables students to expand their expertise through subjects such as Infrastructure Design, Mechanics of Composite Materials, Computer Aided Engineering, and Design for Structural Dynamics. Through this structured combination of theoretical learning, practical skills, and specialised knowledge, the course prepares graduates to manage complex construction projects, apply innovative engineering solutions, and contribute to sustainable and efficient infrastructure development in the construction industry.
