COURSE CURRICULUM

Master of Clinical Audiology, students must successfully complete 240 credit points, all of which are core subjects designed to provide comprehensive theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and professional experience. The program spans two years of full-time study and follows a structured curriculum that prepares graduates for professional audiology practice. In the first level, students complete 120 credit points, beginning with the Academic Integrity Module and Wominjeka La Trobe: Indigenous Cultural Literacy for Higher Education, which promote ethical practice and cultural competence. Core clinical subjects include Diagnostics I: Adult Assessment Techniques, where students learn hearing assessment methods for adults; Foundations of Communication and Aural Rehabilitation, which focuses on communication disorders and rehabilitation strategies; and Audio-Vestibular Anatomy, Pathology and Physiology, covering the structure and function of the auditory and vestibular systems. Students also undertake Professional Practice – Clinical Audiology A to develop practical clinical skills. Advanced subjects include Diagnostics II: Objective Assessment Techniques, Paediatric Assessment and Management, Solutions in Hearing Care and Aural Rehabilitation 1, and Professional Practice – Clinical Audiology B, which build expertise in objective hearing assessments, paediatric audiology, hearing rehabilitation, and supervised clinical practice. This carefully designed curriculum ensures graduates develop the knowledge, technical competence, and professional capabilities required for successful careers in clinical audiology.
