COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Civil Engineering requires students to complete a total of 240 credit points to qualify for the award. The course structure is designed to provide a balanced combination of advanced core engineering knowledge and specialised expertise through dedicated streams. Students must complete 180 credit points of core subjects, which develop essential civil engineering capabilities, including technical analysis, infrastructure design, sustainable engineering practices, and professional problem-solving skills. These core studies provide a strong foundation in contemporary engineering principles and prepare students to address complex challenges within the built environment. In addition, students complete 60 credit points from a chosen specialisation stream, allowing them to develop deeper knowledge and skills in a specific area of civil engineering. The specialisation component enables students to tailor their studies according to their professional interests and career goals while gaining advanced expertise relevant to industry needs. The course is structured across two levels, with Level one and Level two each comprising 120 credit points of study. Through this combination of core learning and specialised study, the Master of Civil Engineering prepares graduates with the technical competence, innovative thinking, and industry-focused skills required to design sustainable infrastructure, solve real-world engineering problems, and contribute effectively to the future of the engineering profession.
