COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Artificial Intelligence at La Trobe University comprises 240 credit points delivered across two levels, providing a comprehensive blend of foundational knowledge, advanced artificial intelligence concepts, and professional development. Level one consists of 120 credit points of core subjects that establish essential technical competencies. Students complete the Academic Integrity Module before studying Information Technology Fundamentals, Introduction to Programming, Database Fundamentals, Cyber Security Principles, Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Deep Learning. These subjects develop strong programming, analytical, and computational skills that form the basis for designing and implementing intelligent systems. Level two also includes 120 credit points, comprising 60 credit points of core subjects and 60 credit points from a chosen specialization stream. Core subjects include Project Management, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Professional Practices and Entrepreneurship in Information Technology, enabling students to strengthen their technical expertise while building leadership, innovation, and project management capabilities. The specialization component allows students to tailor their studies according to their career goals and academic interests by selecting subjects worth 60 credit points from an approved range of options.
