COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science consists of 360 credit points, including 240 core credit points and one 120 credit point major. The course structure is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the scientific principles of human movement, exercise, health and performance. In the first level, students develop essential knowledge in human biosciences, anatomy, sport and exercise science, exercise programming, growth, development, nutrition, research methods and statistics. Students also begin studying subjects from their chosen major, allowing them to develop specialised knowledge from the beginning of the degree. In the second level, students build on their foundation through advanced studies in applied human anatomy, biomechanics, movement analysis, exercise physiology, assessment, motor learning, performance and exercise prescription. Students continue progressing through their chosen major while developing professional skills through practical learning experiences. The course combines theoretical knowledge with applied practice, enabling students to understand how scientific concepts can be used to improve physical performance, support health and prevent injuries. Graduates develop skills in exercise assessment, program design, data analysis and professional practice, preparing them for careers in sport, fitness, health promotion, exercise science and related fields or further postgraduate study.
