COURSE CURRICULUM

The Molecular Biology major consists of 120 credit points within the Bachelor of Science program and provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the molecular and cellular processes that underpin life. The major is structured across three levels of study, enabling students to develop foundational knowledge in biological sciences before progressing to advanced concepts in molecular biology, biochemistry and related disciplines. Students explore how cells function, how biological molecules interact and how molecular processes influence health, disease and the development of new technologies. The course structure integrates theoretical learning with practical laboratory experiences, allowing students to develop skills in scientific investigation, experimental techniques, data analysis and research communication. Students examine areas such as cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, physiology and human disease mechanisms, gaining insight into how molecular knowledge can be applied to real-world challenges. Through research-based learning and scientific problem-solving, students develop the ability to analyse complex biological systems and contribute to innovations in healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and biomedical research.
