COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Physiological Sciences major consists of 120 credit points within the Bachelor of Science program and provides students with an in-depth understanding of how the human body functions and responds to different conditions. The major is structured across three levels of study, allowing students to develop foundational knowledge of biological systems before progressing to advanced concepts in human physiology, health and disease. Students explore the functions of cells, tissues, organs and interconnected body systems, gaining insight into how physiological processes maintain health and how they are altered by exercise, injury and disease. The course structure combines theoretical learning with practical scientific experiences, enabling students to develop skills in laboratory techniques, experimental design, data collection and analysis. Students investigate the impact of factors such as physical activity, medications and environmental influences on human performance and wellbeing.
