COURSE CURRICULUM

The Information Systems major consists of 120 credit points within a 360-credit-point degree and is structured to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of information systems, business technologies and digital solutions. In Level one, students complete core subjects including Introduction to Cybersecurity and Data-Based Critical Thinking, establishing a strong foundation in computing, analytical thinking and digital security. Students also undertake major subjects and elective units that develop fundamental programming, information systems and business technology skills. In Level two, the curriculum includes core subjects such as Database Fundamentals, User Interface Design and Systems Analysis and Design, while major subjects build expertise in information systems development, business processes, data management and digital technologies. Elective subjects provide flexibility to explore complementary areas of computing and information technology. In the final level, students complete a Capstone Project that integrates technical and business knowledge to solve real-world information systems challenges, supported by studies in Project Management and Professional Practices and Entrepreneurship in Information Technology. Advanced major subjects further develop skills in digital business, systems integration, business analytics, enterprise technologies and emerging information systems. Throughout the program, students gain practical experience in analysing organisational requirements, designing technology solutions and managing information systems projects. Graduates are prepared for careers in information systems, business analysis, IT consulting, systems development, project management and digital transformation across diverse industries.
