COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence major consists of 120 credit points within a 360-credit-point degree and is structured to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in intelligent computing technologies. Students begin with core subjects that introduce cybersecurity, data-based critical thinking and essential computing concepts, while selecting Level one subjects from the Artificial Intelligence major to build a strong foundation in programming and computational problem-solving. Elective subjects provide flexibility to broaden knowledge across computing and related disciplines. In the second level, students study core topics such as database fundamentals, user interface design and systems analysis and design while progressing through specialised Artificial Intelligence subjects that develop expertise in machine learning, algorithms, intelligent systems and data-driven technologies. Additional electives allow students to customise their learning according to their interests and career goals. In the final level, students complete a capstone project that integrates their technical knowledge to solve a real-world problem, alongside studies in project management and professional practices in information technology. The major also includes advanced Artificial Intelligence subjects covering areas such as deep learning, computer vision and natural language processing. Graduates develop strong programming, analytical and problem-solving skills, preparing them for careers in artificial intelligence, software development, machine learning, data science, automation and emerging digital technologies.
