COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Global Studies requires the completion of 360 credit points over three years of full-time study. The degree combines core global studies subjects, a selected major, minors, electives, and practical learning opportunities to provide students with a broad understanding of international issues and global change. The curriculum introduces students to global systems, international relations, geopolitics, security challenges, global organizations, and the political, social, legal, and cultural factors shaping world affairs. Students examine topics such as international cooperation and conflict, global power relations, sovereignty, humanitarian issues, environmental security, refugee law, and the role of international institutions in addressing complex challenges. The course develops students’ ability to analyse global problems, evaluate policy responses, and apply critical thinking to contemporary international issues. Students can tailor their studies through a range of majors and minors, including international relations, human rights, conflict and negotiation, Asian politics and security, government and policy, sustainability and development, and language studies such as Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Spanish, Greek, French, and Italian. The program emphasizes practical and experiential learning through opportunities for overseas study, internships, and industry engagement. Graduates develop skills in research, communication, problem-solving, intercultural understanding, and policy analysis, preparing them for careers in government, international organizations, diplomacy, humanitarian agencies, sustainability, global development, and related fields.
