COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Cybersecurity/Bachelor of Commerce at La Trobe University requires students to complete a total of 480 credit points, combining cybersecurity expertise with business and commercial knowledge. The program consists of 240 credit points of Cybersecurity subjects and 240 credit points of Commerce subjects. The Cybersecurity component includes 240 credit points of core subjects, providing students with comprehensive knowledge in areas such as cybersecurity principles, programming, cyber technologies, information security, risk management, and digital protection strategies. The Commerce component includes 105 credit points of core subjects, 15 credit points of prescribed electives, and one 120 credit point major selected from the Commerce major list, allowing students to specialise in a business discipline aligned with their career goals. The course is structured across four academic levels, with each level requiring completion of 120 credit points, followed by specialised major studies. Early stages focus on building foundational knowledge in cybersecurity, commerce, technology, and business practices, while later stages develop advanced skills through specialised subjects, applied projects, and industry-focused learning.
