COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Health Sciences at La Trobe University requires students to complete a total of 480 credit points, combining business and health disciplines to develop broad professional capabilities. The course consists of 240 credit points of Commerce subjects and 240 credit points of Health Science subjects. The Commerce component includes 105 credit points of core subjects, 15 credit points of prescribed electives, and one 120 credit point major selected from the Commerce major list, allowing students to specialise in an area of business such as finance, management, marketing, accounting, or related fields. The Health Sciences component includes 60 credit points of core subjects, 60 credit points of elective subjects, and one 120 credit point major selected from the Health Sciences major list. The program is structured across four academic levels, with each level requiring completion of 120 credit points, followed by specialised major studies. Early stages focus on developing foundational knowledge in commerce, health sciences, research, and professional skills. Later stages allow students to build advanced expertise through major subjects, applied learning, and interdisciplinary study. This integrated curriculum develops analytical, leadership, communication, research, and problem-solving skills, preparing graduates for careers in healthcare management, health policy, business consulting, administration, entrepreneurship, and other roles requiring combined expertise in business and health sectors.
