COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business (International Business) at La Trobe University requires students to complete a total of 360 credit points. The program consists of 60 credit points of core business subjects, a 120 credit point International Business major, and 180 credit points that can be completed through a second major, minor, specialisation, or elective subjects, providing flexibility to tailor studies to individual career goals. In the first year, students complete 120 credit points covering foundational business disciplines, including accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, business law, data fundamentals, and communication. The second year comprises 120 credit points with specialised international business subjects focusing on global business environments, international trade, cross-cultural management, global marketing, international economics, and business strategy, alongside elective or major subjects. The final year includes 120 credit points featuring advanced studies in international business management, global value chains, digital business, sustainability, international finance, corporate social responsibility, and strategic decision-making, together with additional elective or specialisation subjects. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical learning through industry projects, case studies, simulations, and opportunities for international engagement and overseas study experiences. Graduates develop strong analytical, leadership, communication, and cross-cultural skills, preparing them for careers in multinational corporations, international trade, export and import businesses, consulting firms, government agencies, and global organisations.
