COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) at La Trobe University requires students to complete a total of 360 credit points. The program includes 60 credit points of core business subjects, a 120 credit point Human Resource Management major, and 180 credit points that can be completed through a second major, minor, specialisation, or elective subjects, allowing students to customise their studies according to their career interests. In the first year, students complete 120 credit points covering business fundamentals such as accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, business law, communication, and data analysis. The second year comprises 120 credit points with specialised human resource management subjects focusing on recruitment and selection, employment relations, strategic human resource management, organisational behaviour, performance management, and workforce planning, together with elective or major subjects. The final year includes 120 credit points featuring advanced studies in international human resource management, human resource analytics, change management, rewards and benefits, leadership, and organisational development, alongside additional elective or specialisation subjects. The curriculum combines theoretical learning with practical applications through case studies, business projects, and collaborative activities that strengthen communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in human resource management, recruitment, employee relations, organisational development, talent management, workforce consulting, and leadership across a wide range of industries.
