COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Biomedicine requires students to complete 360 credit points, combining core biomedical knowledge, specialised major subjects and elective opportunities to develop a broad understanding of human health and disease. The first year introduces essential concepts in molecular biology, human structure and function, disease burden, biomedical science, chemistry and developmental anatomy. Students build a strong foundation in understanding biological processes, body systems and the scientific principles that underpin modern medicine. In the second year, students advance their knowledge through studies in biochemistry, molecular biology, human physiology, anatomy, genetics and medical microbiology. These subjects provide deeper insights into how the human body functions, how diseases develop and how scientific discoveries contribute to healthcare solutions. In the third year, students specialise through a major in areas such as Cancer, Heart and Brain Diseases, while also completing additional electives or major subjects to broaden their expertise. The course develops skills in scientific analysis, research interpretation, critical thinking and communication. Graduates are prepared for careers in biomedical research, healthcare, biotechnology, medical science and related fields, with opportunities to pursue further postgraduate study in medicine, research and specialised biomedical disciplines.
