COURSE CURRICULUM

The Genetics major within the Bachelor of Biological Sciences provides students with an in-depth understanding of how inherited genes influence the development, function and health of living organisms. Through this major, students explore the molecular mechanisms that control biological processes and gain knowledge of DNA, gene expression, inheritance patterns and genetic variation. The course develops scientific skills that allow students to investigate complex biological challenges, including disease research, conservation of endangered species and advances in biotechnology. Students learn how genetic information contributes to the diversity of life and how modern genetic technologies can be applied to improve health, agriculture and environmental management. The major combines theoretical knowledge with practical scientific approaches, including laboratory techniques, data analysis and critical thinking. Students develop the ability to interpret genetic information, design investigations and apply scientific reasoning to real-world problems.
