COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Health Sciences is a double degree requiring the completion of 480 credit points over four years of full-time study. The course combines humanities, social sciences, and health sciences to provide students with an interdisciplinary understanding of health, society, and wellbeing. Students complete a structured combination of Arts and Health Sciences subjects, including majors, minors, core subjects, electives, and professional learning opportunities. In the Arts component, students can choose from a wide range of majors and minors such as Psychological Science, Sociology, Crime, Justice and Legal Studies, Creative and Professional Writing, Politics, Anthropology, and other humanities and social science disciplines. The Health Sciences component allows students to specialize in areas including allied health, digital health, environmental health, food and nutrition, health promotion, health and wellbeing performance, public health, and rehabilitation counselling. The curriculum examines how social, cultural, environmental, and political factors influence health outcomes and explores approaches to improving individual and community wellbeing. Students develop research, communication, analytical, and practical skills through coursework, internships, health placements, and international learning opportunities. The flexible structure enables students to tailor their studies according to career interests while gaining knowledge applicable to healthcare, community services, policy, research, and health-related professions. Graduates may also pursue postgraduate pathways in selected allied health fields and related disciplines.
