COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health–Master of Business Administration structure at JCU is designed to provide students with an integrated understanding of healthcare management, public health practices, and business leadership. The program consists of 42 credit points of core subjects that combine business and public health disciplines. The business component includes subjects such as Economics for a Sustainable World, Managing Strategic Resources and Operations, Corporate Responsibility and Governance, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Leading and Managing Organisational Change, and the Applied Research Project. These subjects develop strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, resource management skills, and the ability to implement sustainable solutions in organizations. The public health component focuses on essential areas including Tropical Public Health, Public Health Management, Leadership, Planning and Policy, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Communicable Disease Control, and Public Health Economics. Students also have the flexibility to select additional subjects related to business and marketing, including The Changing Business Environment or International Political Economy, along with Digital Marketing or Marketing Essentials. Furthermore, elective options allow students to tailor the program according to their career interests. This comprehensive structure equips graduates with the knowledge and skills required to lead healthcare organizations, develop effective public health strategies, and manage complex challenges in global health and business environments.
