COURSE CURRICULUM

The CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support requires the completion of 13 units, including 10 core units and 3 electives. The core units focus on developing skills essential for providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with disabilities. These include following established behaviour support plans, facilitating community participation and social inclusion, and supporting ongoing skill development using a person-centred approach. The course also covers providing services to people with complex needs, managing legal and ethical compliance, working with people who have mental health issues, and engaging with diverse populations. Additionally, learners study delivering care services using a palliative approach, recognising healthy body systems, and maintaining workplace health and safety.The elective units allow students to tailor their learning to specific areas of interest or need, such as providing support to people living with dementia, further delivering palliative care services, and recognising healthy body systems, reinforcing core learning outcomes.
