COURSE CURRICULUM

For Trimester 2, 2025, the Master of Visual Arts degree requires students to complete 80 credit points through a combination of core modules and studio practice courses. The program includes Visual Arts Research Methods (7094QCA), a 20 credit point course that provides students with essential research skills and critical approaches to contemporary art. Contemporary Studio Practice (7030QCA) offers 10 credit points and focuses on developing practical skills and artistic techniques. Students also complete several Studio Immersion courses (7037QCA, 7038QCA, and 7039QCA), each worth 10 credit points, which provide hands-on experience and opportunities to deepen their artistic practice. Additionally, the Communicating Visual Arts course (7214QCA), valued at 20 credit points, emphasizes skills in effectively articulating and presenting visual art concepts and works. This structure ensures a balanced mix of research, practical studio work, and communication skills, enabling students to develop a significant body of work while engaging critically with contemporary visual arts.
