COURSE CURRICULUM

The psychology degree for Trimester 2, 2025, requires students to complete 160 credit points from core courses, with an option for an English Language Enhancement Course if needed. Those required to undertake this course must complete "Language and Communication for Health" in their first trimester instead of a flexible module, while native English speakers are exempt. The core curriculum covers a comprehensive range of foundational and advanced psychology topics. Students start with introductory courses such as Introduction to Psychology 1 and 2, Interpersonal Skills, and Psychology in Professional Contexts. They then progress to essential research and statistical methods, including Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology and Experimental Design and Analysis. The program also includes specialized subjects like Developmental Psychology, Biological Psychology, Social and Cultural Psychology, and Cognitive Psychology. Practical skill development is emphasized through courses like Counselling Skills, Group Facilitation and Coaching Skills, Behaviour Change Skills, and Psychological Assessment of Individual Differences. Advanced topics include Survey Design and Analysis and Abnormal Psychology.
