COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (Mathematics) is a two-year full-time program designed to build on your existing mathematical knowledge and skills. Students who enter with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related discipline may be eligible for a 54-unit pathway, providing a more streamlined route through the degree. The course offers flexibility, allowing you to select topics that both complement and extend your undergraduate studies, with an emphasis on modern applied mathematics. Areas of study include methods of applied mathematics, complex analysis, partial differential equations, and statistical science, giving you the opportunity to tailor your learning to your interests and career goals. The program culminates in a Masters project, typically undertaken in the final two semesters, where you conduct an in-depth investigation of a specific area under the guidance of a supervisor. This project develops advanced research, technical, and communication skills, preparing you for professional practice or further research in mathematics and related fields.
