COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graduate Diploma in Research Methods is a 36-unit program, typically completed in one year full-time. It is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to transition into higher degree research studies while developing expertise in their chosen field.The program is structured around two key components: an 18-unit research thesis or project, which provides the opportunity to apply research skills in depth, and 18 units of coursework topics. These topics include field-specific research methods, writing a literature review, preparing an ethics proposal, and exploring specialised subject areas that support your chosen research focus.Graduates of this diploma will leave with advanced knowledge of academic principles and concepts in their area of study, the ability to independently plan and manage research activities, and the confidence to present their findings both orally and in writing. They will also develop the capacity to undertake independent research, critically evaluate and analyse complex issues, and deploy evidence effectively in support of a research output.This qualification provides both a direct pathway into higher degree research and a valuable set of skills applicable across academic, professional, and industry contexts where evidence-based problem solving and research expertise are required.
