COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a four-year professional healthcare degree designed to develop advanced knowledge and practical clinical skills required for becoming a qualified physiotherapist. In the first year, students build foundational understanding through subjects such as introduction to physiotherapy, anatomy and physiology, communication skills, allied health practice, human development, and healthcare systems in Australia. These units help students understand the basics of human movement and healthcare delivery. The second year focuses on more specialized study, including neurological, cardiovascular, and respiratory physiotherapy, along with clinical medicine, research skills, and the study of complex cases in rural, remote, and Indigenous communities. This stage strengthens students’ ability to understand and manage different medical conditions affecting movement and physical function. In the third year, students move into advanced clinical learning, studying physiotherapy applications across the lifespan, acute care physiotherapy, and extensive physiotherapy theory and application, along with elective subjects. The final year focuses on advanced practice areas such as complex spine and pain management, physiotherapy law and ethics, and advanced physiotherapy topics, supported by elective studies. Overall, the program integrates theory, clinical practice, research, and ethical training to prepare graduates for professional roles in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community healthcare settings, ensuring they are fully qualified and industry-ready physiotherapists.
