COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Engineering (Mechanical) program spans two years and includes 13 core and elective units designed to provide students with deep practical and theoretical knowledge in mechanical engineering. In the first year, students study key subjects such as Design and Failure Analysis of Materials, Heat Transfer, Industrial Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and Pumps, Compressors, Turbines and Drives in Semester 1. Semester 2 continues with Process Engineering, Professional Engineering Management, Advanced Fluid Dynamics, and an elective chosen from options like Materials for Engineers, Industrial Gas Turbines, or Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Automation. These units focus on strengthening core competencies in fluid mechanics, materials, and system design.In the second year, the curriculum emphasizes advanced tools and methodologies used in the engineering industry. Semester 1 includes Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Finite Element Method (FEM), Engineering Practice and Key Research Methods, and one elective from options such as Introduction to Aerodynamics, Green Energy Technologies for Vehicles, or Data Analytics for Engineering Applications. This broadens the learner’s exposure to new technologies and sustainability-focused practices. In the final semester, students complete a 12-credit Project Thesis, allowing them to apply their accumulated knowledge to a substantial, real-world engineering challenge.Additional mandatory components include five non-credit hands-on workshops and professional practice experience, which provide physical and virtual simulations to reinforce theoretical knowledge. These practical elements ensure that students graduate with job-ready skills applicable across industries such as manufacturing, automation, energy, transportation, and R\&D.
